Back page: New Jersey highway roaming sheep located

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — After months of searching for what they thought were two wayward goats roaming the Garden State Parkway, wildlife officials have finally tracked the animals down. But it turns out they were sheep. The Asbury Park Press reports that animal control officers captured a white and black sheep on Thursday morning and quickly realized why their decoy goat wasn’t working. People began reporting seeing two goats roaming the Parkway in Wall Township around Labor Day. Popcorn Park’s John Bergmann said that a hole was cut into a chain link fence leading to a farm and the goats walked in Wednesday. The sheep were corralled Thursday. Bergmann says they will be quarantined for 60 days. He says they were covered in ticks but otherwise appeared healthy.
