Back page: Snake falls from car’s dashboard onto Arkansas driver’s feet

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — An Arkansas woman escaped injury and managed to safely stop her car after a four-foot-long rat snake came out of her dashboard and slithered across her feet as she drove on Interstate 49.

Although rat snakes aren’t venomous and aren’t generally a threat to people, Kelly Swisher says the snake felt “rough and scaly” and gave her a “nails on a chalk board” sort of feeling. She also says she doesn’t even remember if she kept her hands on the steering wheel during the incident Thursday.

She says the snake first slithered back into the dashboard but then came back out and made its way into the back seat, allowing her to get off Interstate 49 and get out of the car.

Animal control officers came and captured the snake.
