Backstage Theatre looking for actor and actress

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT
Breckenridge, Colorado

The award-winning Backstage Children’s Theatre in Breckenridge is looking to cast one man and one woman (ages 17 to 50) for its summer production of Babe the Sheep-Pig.

Adapted by renowned children’s theatre dramatist, David Wood, this is a non-musical stage story about a plucky pig who defies all expectations to become a champion sheep-herder.

Adult performers will play a number of roles including fairgoers, sheep-herders. rustlers, and, yes, even animals on the farm. The show is directed by Denver Post Ovation-winning actor and director, Christopher Willard (Hyronomous A. Frog, The Hobbit). All positions are paid.

Babe the Sheep-Pig will begin rehearsals in late April/early May. Rehearsals are flexible with schedules of the actors. Performances are alternating weekends beginning July 3 thru Aug. 30. See the complete performance schedule on our website at http://www.backstagetheatre.org.

Auditions are by individual appointment only and will consist of cold readings from the script. Contact Chris at the Backstage Theatre at (970) 453-0199 to arrange an audition.
