Baked goods support tsunami relief

Liz Kreel and the entire sixth-grade teamSummit Middle School

I would like to both recognize and thank the sixth-grade students at Summit Middle School for a phenomenal effort in their fundraising efforts for tsunami relief. Through a series of bake sales at Arapahoe Basin and selling small pins of flags of the affected countries, the students raised $1,208 for the International Refugee Committee’s Tsunami Relief Fund. Another $125 went to the UNICEF matching fund at Alpine Bank. These efforts would not have been possible without the gracious help of Arapahoe Basin for letting us set up and sell baked goods for four consecutive weekends. Our thanks also goes to Credit Union of the Rockies for donating the check we sent to IRC. And our sincere appreciation goes out to those many kindhearted and caring individuals who gave generously to this cause.
