Barbara Wells: What it means to vote Republican

Barbara Wells

Let’s get real about what a vote for any Republican would mean in this election. The following are platforms of Republicans who are established as sitting representatives or senators or are currently running for office and supported by the Republican Party:

Personal life – A woman would no longer have any control over her body when she becomes pregnant. The government would tell her what she would do.

Professional life – A female, single teacher would be fired if she has an affair. What profession would be targeted next? Are males to be subjected to the same rule?

Regulations – Throw them out and let corporations run their businesses for profit. Forget the salmonella outbreak, forget the mines polluting our rivers, and forget the oil spills. Forget hiring anyone to enforce any regulation.

If you vote Republican in this election, like it or not, you vote in support of the above and for all the crazies who are running on the Republican ticket throughout this country. They will be affirmed for these outrageous platforms and many more not listed here.

The Republican Party needs to clearly define what it stands for and how they support the people of this great nation. Until then you need either to not vote or to vote for a Democrat.
