Battle of the Bands back for more

BRECKENRIDGE – For the fourth year, the Breckenridge Music Festival sets the stage for competition as it welcomes local bands mostly from the middle and high school to the Riverwalk Center. Judges for the event include Krystal 93’s T.J Saunders, KCMV’s Kari Barr and local musician Caroline Foley. Top bands will get to lay down tracks at Dillon’s Makin Tracks Recording Studio. First place gets three hours, second place two hours and third place one hour free, said owner Ron Anderson. Other prizes will come from Good Times Rafting, Mountain Wave, Unity Snowboards, A Big Hit, Great Adventure Sports, Loan Star Sports, the Boatyard and Deli Belly’s. Music genres range from acoustic rock to heavy metal to punk and funk to rock ‘n’ roll. Participating bands so far include Distorted Image, High Radiation, Nostalgia, Sight Unseen, Amethyst, Crimson Sky Pilots, DJ Extra Bad and The Tamers. Each band will play for about 10 minutes. Tickets to the Friday, June 9 event at 7 p.m. are $5.
