Bear ransacks Aspen TV station office

ASPEN – Give a bear a small opening and he’ll ransack an office.

That’s what one apparently hungry bear did when it found the door at an Aspen community TV station open a few inches Monday.

Staffers say it looked like a bomb had gone off when they got to work Tuesday morning. The refrigerator was cleaned out, trash cans were overturned and a filing cabinet had been thrown across the room.

The unruly visitor defecated and urinated before leaving.

The last employee to leave the GrassRoots TV studio Monday left the office back door a few inches ajar.

Bears are roaming around the mountain town, looking for things to eat. A late freeze wiped out some of their normal food sources.
