Summit County Rotary would like to congratulate the winners of the first annual Omni Red Ball Beach Bash: Kasi Wood of Dillon won $3,000; Ashley Bodie of Windsor won $1,500; Charlie Whittaker of Silverthorne won $500; and Bob Cottrell of Dillon won a Budweiser snowboard.

Kasi Wood is only 3 years old. Her dad, Rob, said the money will be used to start her college fund.

Fresh snow brought out more than 3,000 spectators to watch 100 red exercise balls roll down the High Noon run at Araphoe Basin on Sunday. The $5 chances to win tickets had been on sale since April 1.

The Rotary Club would like to extend a special thanks to Bristlecone Health Services, Summit Lacrosse and Advocates for Victims of Assault, who sold tickets to raise funds for their organizations. Thank you to TCD Construction for building the finish line and to all the staff of Araphoe Basin for blowing up the balls for a successful launch. Thanks also for the generous donation of all the proceeds from beverage sales to the Rotary Club event. The Rotary Club has dedicated proceeds from this year’s event to the new Community Care Clinic.
