BRECKENRIDGE – Bike-theft season got launched in expensive style Thursday when two bikes worth more than $2,000 were reported stolen to the Breckenridge police.One of the bicycles was a red, full-suspension Specialized Expert. The other bike was a black Yeti.Both mountain bikes were locked and secured in bicycle racks on the tops of vehicles. The bicycles were stolen off the vehicles sometime during the night or early morning.Police remind everyone that bicycle racks are not tamper proof and people should not leave bicycles or other outdoor equipment on top of a vehicle over night.If you have any information pertaining to these crimes, contact Officer Glen Langhans at (970) 453-2941.Anyone with information about this or other crimes in Summit County can call Summit County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-453-STOP and remain anonymous.Summit County Crime Stoppers will pay up to a $1,000 cash reward to callers who help solve crime in Summit County.
