QWhat type of business

do you operate?

AFull-service picture frame shop and gallery, special order framing, posters, photos, original pastels, Bach-Beethoven-Breckenridge – all framed or unframed. We do commissions by request.

QWhere are you from, and why did you decide to open your business in Summit County?

AFrom Minneapolis, Minn., but I’ve lived in Breckenridge since 1992. I opened in Summit County because I love the community and want to continue to live here.

QWhat experience do you have in this field?

AI have two years experience in Minneapolis and 11 years experience in Summit County working for Under Glass.

QWhat sets your business apart from other similar businesses?

AI’m an artist as well as a picture framer. I sell my own work, do commissions and do the framing. Also, I sell inexpensive work like posters.

QWhat types of customers do you hope to reach in Summit County?

ALocals, seasonal residents and people with rental units who might not want to put up originals.

QWhy did you choose to open where you did?

AIt has high traffic, a recognizable address (corner of Ski Hill Road and Main Street), I love the town and there’s not much inexpensive art for sale in Breckenridge.

QWhat are your plans

for your company’s future?

AI plan to keep framing, get set up on the Internet and sell more of my own work, including pastels, black-and-white photos and ceramics. I also plan to expand the number and range of posters I carry, as well as highlight local artists. Eventually, I plan to sell hand-carved, hand-painted, one-of-a-kind wooden frames.
