Blue River Festival coming up


As part of the fundraising efforts for next year’s round of Blue River improvements, Silverthorne is hosting the second annual Blue River Festival, Sept. 10-12. A public kick-off dinner and auction is set for Sept. 10.Cutthroat Anglers and the Raven Golf Course headline as co-sponsors for the fly-fishing and golf tournament events and will provide staff to guide the fishing portion and the golf tournament respectively. The tournament is recruiting 18 teams of four. For more information, call (970) 262-7390 or visit Friday, Sept. 10Public Banquet New Belgium Beer Pairing and Auction. Teams compete for private water in casting contest for accuracy. Banquet-only ticket: $35- Saturday, Sept. 11Teams head out to Select fishing locations with guides and judges. Teams have five hours to rack up the most inches In trout caught (limit eight for measure). Five highest scores lower their handicaps in golf the next day.- Sunday, Sept. 12Team tee off in a four man Scramble at the Raven Golf Course for 18 holes. Mulligans are available for purchase to lower your score and increase your odds of winning first, second or third place in the overall tournament.
