On June 17, the Blue River Watershed Group and its technical advisory team will host a workshop at the Frisco Community Center for the Blue River Wildfire Ready Watershed Action Plan, which will examine how post-wildfire hazards could affect the Blue River watershed.
The event will run from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with the start of the session involving an in-depth presentation and discussion focused on key stakeholders to understand the community’s values and defensible assets.
The first part will end around 5 p.m., and starting at 5:30 p.m., the group will give a more brief overview of Colorado’s Wildfire Ready Watersheds Program and provide time for an open house discussion.
Created by the Colorado Water Conservation Board to implement Senate Bill 21-240, the Wildfire Ready Watersheds Program is a statewide initiative to study the impacts wildfires have on water supplies and infrastructure. The action plans intend to bring local values to prevention efforts and recovery planning.
