BRECKENRIDGE – Rocker Bobby Yang puts a spin on the violin tonight at Sherpa & Yeti’s in Breckenridge, performing with his Unrivaled Players.

“It boggles my mind that the violin hasn’t grown to become this pure rock screaming instrument that it can be,” Yang told the Summit Daily in July before a stop in Breckenridge. “And I’m showing people it can be.”The 23-year-old Yang covers everyone from Michael Jackson and Prince to Radiohead and Van Halen with amazing deftness, and he does it all acoustically, without pedals or effects.

Popular with Hollywood’s A-listers, Yang played at Kevin Costner’s star-studded wedding last year in Aspen. Most recently, he has performed arena shows in Denver and New York and a show for modern rock radio station 99X in his hometown of Atlanta.

The cover for tonight’s Breckenridge show is $5, and doors open at 9 p.m.
