BOCC: new chair, new duties

SUMMIT COUNTY – Gary Lindstrom was elected chair of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) recently as the BOCC continued its custom of rotating the position each year among the three members.Lindstrom replaces Tom Long. Bill Wallace was elected vice chair.Commissioners also allocated themselves to serve on various committees and boards as follows:- Long – Clinton Ditch & Reservoir Co. Board of Directors, Colorado River Water Conservation District Board of Directors, Water Quality/Quantity Executive Board, Summit Water Quality Committee, the Weed Commission, Joint Upper Blue Master Plan Committee, Club 20, Peru Creek Task Force, Middle Park Water Conservation Board and the Upper Colorado River Council.- Lindstrom – Colorado Mountain College Steering Committee, Summit County Cooperative Extension Advisory Board, Keystone Science School Advisory Committee, Dillon Peninsula Committee, HazMat Advisory Committee, Club 20 (alternate), Mountain Community Fair Board, Colorado West Local Advisory Board, American Leadership Forum Board, Summit Foundation Board, Summit Prevention Alliance, Fire Authority Training Facility Committee, Colorado Inter-Mountain Fixed Guideway Authority, Summit Stage Transit Board, Intermountain Transportation Planning Region, Mountain Corridor Advisory Committee, Colorado Area Rapid Transit Solution and the Head Start Interim Policy/Policy Committee- Wallace – Northwest Colorado Council of Governments Executive Board, Rural Resort Region, Private Industry Council/Local Elected Officials, Rural Resort Region (RRR) Workforce Board, Summit Recycling Project, Summit County Housing Authority, Summit Medical Center Advisory Committee, Health Advisory Board, Personnel Board/Appeal Board, Emergency Medical Services Board, Local Emergency Planning Committee, Summit County Chamber of Commerce, Second Homes Study, French Gulch Remediation Project, Building Bridges, Summit Combined Housing Authority and Early Childhood Options Board.BOCC members also work with the following boards, committees and commissions: National Association of Counties, Northwest Colorado Council of Governments Full Board, Summit Leadership Forum, Colorado Water Congress, Colorado Headwaters Forum, Upper Colorado River Council, Water Quality/Quantity Full Board, Colorado Mountain College Advisory Committee, French Gulch Remediation Opportunities Group and the Snake River Task Force.
