Body found in Chatfield Reservoir after search

CASTLE ROCK – Search teams found a body in Chatfield Reservoir on Tuesday, three days after someone was reported missing there.The victim’s name had not been released. An autopsy was scheduled, but Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy Ron Hanavan said the death was being treated as an accidental drowning.The Littleton Fire Department received a 911 call about the missing person on Saturday morning, Hanavan said.Teams from the state parks department, Littleton Fire Department, Metro Dive Team and the Douglas and Jefferson county sheriff’s departments have been searching since then, he said.The reservoir, at the south end of the Denver area, is surrounded by Chatfield State Recreation Area.
