BOEC receives grant from The North Face Explore Fund

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center received a $2,500 grant from The North Face Explore Fund.

BOEC is among the inaugural organizations to receive a grant from the newly-established fund. More than 100 programs were awarded grants by The North Face Explore Fund in the amount of $250,000 affecting more than 85,000 youths.

“We are pleased to be a part of this national program and to provide greater opportunities for children with special needs to be inspired by the outdoors,” BOEC executive director Bruce Fitch said in a press release.

The fund was created by The North Face to enable more people to get outside and explore the world.

“We’re very proud to launch the Explore Fund and support BOEC and the other impressive organizations that are making outdoor exploration possible, and a priority, in communities across the country,” The North Face President Steve Rendle said in the same release.

The BOEC has been providing opportunities for people with disabilities and special needs to experience outdoor adventures and education since 1976.
