BOEC thanks Gene and Therese Dayton

BOEC staff

The staff of the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) extends its most sincere thanks to Gene and Therese Dayton for having the vision to organize and implement the fourth Annual Breckebeiner, held on Saturday, March 25. The Breckebeiner Nordic Ski-a-Thon raises scholarship dollars for BOEC participants with disabilities and special needs. The event, based on the famed Birkebeiner ski race in Norway, was held at the Breckenridge Nordic Center and was created by Gene Dayton, one of the original founders and a current Board member of the BOEC.This year’s event generated more than $25,000 in scholarship dollars for the BOEC and resulted in the largest turnout in its history. The Breckebeiner enjoys such tremendous success because of our friends’ hard work and devotion to both the sport of Nordic skiing and the BOEC. It is for this reason and more that we say thank you to our snow angels, Gene and Therese, and the great staff of the Breckenridge Nordic Center. The BOEC would also like to extend thanks to Vail Summit Orthopaedics, Swix and Fischer for sponsoring the event.
