Boo to county commissioners; nonsmokers are no-shows after getting their way

I am appalled at the county commissioners for not even considering the wishes of business owners and the petition signers to put the smoking at 10 p.m. amendment on the ballot for voters’ consideration. It appears you want to watch business founder rather than give them the opportunity to be successful – as if three months of declining sales in bars isn’t enough of a clue. How irresponsible of this team of county commissioners who are not representing all the people. Since this is an election year, I will not be voting for the incumbents or Gary Lindstrom, who was instrumental in getting the smoking ban started and then bailed out of Summit County. Come on, there are about 320 food service establishments in Summit County. Why wouldn’t you give the opportunity for a dozen or so to have smoking in their bars after 10 p.m.?Don’t say it is to keep employees healthy – they are hurting financially. And yes, the nonsmokers are no-shows in the bars. Boy did they pull one over on us for their personal agenda.
