Book collection drive under way now at Dillon Valley Elementary

SPECIAL TO THE DAILY

DILLON VALLEY ” The students at Dillon Valley Elementary need a variety of books for their reading and literacy programs. With spring-cleaning season here, the school is ready to accept used children’s books which may be gathering dust on the shelves.

Due to the rapid growth of the student population, the new dual language focus and the requirements of the international baccalaureate program at Dillon Valley, the school is in need of books for all levels of readers.

Dillon Valley is accepting picture books, early readers, nonfiction books and novels for children ages 4 through 12. Books on tape, coffee-table art books, children’s CD-ROM games and children’s DVDs are also useful. Paperbacks are welcome and needed.

Books in English, Spanish and dual language books are all needed. Cash donations are also accepted, which the teachers will use to purchase new books and book sets. Even a donation of one or two books is welcome.

All books donated to the school are tax deductible and donation slips are available in the school office. You may drop off books until the end of the school year, June 1, 2007.

Drop off any donations in the office at Dillon Valley Elementary during school hours or call (970) 468-6836 to schedule a pickup by a volunteer. For more information, call PTSA co-president Barb Richard at (970) 468-5213.
