Boy Scout Troop 187 collecting funds for hurricane relief

There will be a relief effort for the victims of hurricane Katrina in the Steak and Rib parking lot Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Boy Scout Troop 187 will be collecting donations of cell phones, new baby clothes, gift cards (Wal-Mart or Target in particular) and cash. There will also be a barbecue featuring bratwurst, turkey legs, chips and soda. Chances for dinner at several area restaurants will also be sold. All donations and proceeds from the afternoon will be given to Father Dyer Church to benefit the American Red Cross. For more information or to make a donation, call John O’Connor at (970) 453-5907 or the Steak and Rib restaurant at (970) 453-0063.
