BRC announces July honorees
BRECKENRIDGE – The Breckenridge Resort Chamber (BRC) honored five Breckenridge employees this week as part of the Friends Welcome Program for going beyond the call of duty in the realm of customer service:
n Pam and Craig Barber; The Breck Inn
“My family and I came to beautiful Breckenridge only to (experience disappointment with our prearranged lodging company). Pam and Craig were lifesavers. They opened their hearts and their inn and made our stay wonderful! Their kind and warm style made our stay like home! They are the best. We love them!” – Connie Ellefson, Middleton, Wis.
n Rebecca Jeche; Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge
“Rebecca works at the check-in counter, and she was very helpful to me and my husband. She had a pleasant disposition and answered our questions about hiking trails, shopping and places to eat. She recommended activities in Breckenridge and the surrounding area. I observed her being friendly and helpful with other guests as well. We will definitely come back and visit here because of the helpful, friendly people – and of course, the beauty of the area.” – Kathy Greb, Norman, Okla.
n Blake Minich; Main Street Outlet
“Walking into Main Street Outlet, I was greeted by a huge smile and a hello by Blake. I felt very welcome as he explained the store and how the discounts and sales were arranged. He was helpful in asking if there was a particular product I was looking for, and yes – they had the jacket I wanted. He found it for me, and I was amazed at his knowledge of the material, company and warranty of the jacket. He was very friendly, and I enjoyed talking with him at the register. He was an exceptional salesperson in that he was kind, knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy. He gave me a very positive impression of Breckenridge.” – Ryanne Haditsch, Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
n John Witmer; Hearthstone Victorian Dining
“My husband and I hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner for my stepson in July at the Hearthstone and were fortunate enough to have John Witmer as a member of the wait staff for our group. Whether officially or not, John assumed the lead role in serving our party. He impressed (us) with his attentiveness to detail and rapid service. He was always present without being “there.” John was extremely polite and friendly – someone who seemed to truly enjoy his work. He greeted each guest, introducing himself with just the right amount of chatter to put each guest at ease. He back-tracked several times to ensure the orders were satisfactory and resolved any issues expeditiously.
When one of our guests experienced an oxygen-altitude related collapse, John was instrumental in quickly dispatching the medical rescue team and then reassured the remaining guests that this was a very common occurrence. He helped re-establish a sense of celebration for our party with virtually no interruption. I certainly hope (John) receives some formal recognition because quality service from a local such as him keeps us coming back to Breckenridge year after year.” – Pam Cox, Del Mar, Calif.
Rewards for the five chosen employees include $120 worth of gift certificates for use in a variety of businesses in Breckenridge.
