Breck Elementary art exhibit slated for Wednesday

Breckenridge, Colorado

Join the students from Breckenridge Elementary as they celebrate the opening of their new art exhibit “History Through the Children’s Eyes” at the Breckenridge Theatre Gallery (121 S. Ridge St.) from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday. Light refreshments provided.

The artwork in the exhibit was influenced by the rich history of Breckenridge. The Breckenridge Heritage Alliance and the Breckenridge Public Art Commission received a grant from the Colorado Council on the Arts to present the “Heritage Trunk” project to Breckenridge Elementary. Students learned about the history of Edwin Carter, trappers, traders and miners, women of the West, modes of travel to Breckenridge and Barney Ford. They then created an art project related to each history topic.

We hope you can join us in celebrating our rich history and children’s creativity.
