Breck local thanks community for relief help

I am writing this letter regarding the tremendous response to the flyers I passed out regarding the clothing and necessities that were delivered to my house and then to the overflow that went to Father Dyer Church.Thank you to Kim Abernathy and Suzi Newkirk for helping pack boxes. Also thank you to Zoe, Lizzie, Cheryl and Ashley for your parts in helping us get the boxes ready and shipped. And of course, to Rod and mom (Chris Vickery) for your undying support. The devastation to lives is hard to imagine, but I hope we as a community can help ease some pain with our support. My cause is to Jo Busse and the people that have settled for the time being in her community of New Roads, La. Lucky for us, we could ship direct to her and she will distribute them. The UPS Store in Breckenridge did their part in helping us with the shipping costs. Thank you Jared and Johanne.I can not begin to thank everyone by name that donated either money or goods – you know who you are. Consider yourselves hugged and thanked.I hope this tragedy has helped us to slow down a little and see things around us. How lucky are we to live in Summit County! Also, a special thanks to the children of the community for the gracious giving of their “lovies” and blankets. I think they will make the children of New Roads have a little easier transition in a situation they have little or no understanding of. I consider them the most important “necessity” of all. If you care to dig a little deeper into your pocket, money toward shipping costs would be appreciated. Any extra will be sent to Jo Busse in a check to get whatever she needs for the New Roads shelter.
