Breck man charged with 21 counts of theft

A Breckenridge man was arrested shortly before noon Thursday on a felony warrant including charges of 21 counts of theft, according to Breckenridge Police Department.

Michael Kent Yearout, 49, is accused of renting properties to various owners in the Breckenridge area without paying the rental revenue back to the owners. Losses to the owners are more than $50,000, according to BPD.

The warrant was served following a year-long investigation.

Yearout was the owner and operator of Year In and Year Out Management Company in Breckenridge. Charges include 17 felony and four misdemeanor counts, occurring over numerous years, according to BPD.

He was contacted by Summit County Sheriff’s Department deputies at his home in Warriors Mark and is being held at Summit County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

Those who think they may be a victim of theft by the company should contact Detective McCarthy at (970) 453-2941.
