Breck motorists urged to use side streets

SPECIAL TO THE DAILY

BRECKENRIDGE – During the next several weeks, work at the intersection of Main Street and South Park Avenue has officials suggesting motorists use French and Ridge streets to avoid delays. The intersection will remain open, but there will be reduced lanes, shoulder closures and some minor traffic delays. The Duckels construction company is also working along Main Street (Highway 9) on the north side of town to build a roundabout by the Summit County Justice Center.Work will resume on cutting into the rock wall where a cut has been started.Officials said this work will cause only minor delays because traffic will be shifted into the median during the daytime. Work continues at the site of the new bridge at North Park Avenue and Highway 9. No delays should be expected at that location. There may also be intermittent work at Airport Road and North Park Avenue. Duckels will be pouring caissons for new traffic signal poles in the next week. Flaggers will be at that intersection directing traffic and there may be some minor delays.
