Breck opens its superpipe Monday

BRECKENRIDGE – Breckenridge Ski Resort will open the Freeway SuperPipe on Monday, which will be 450 feet long and feature 18-foot walls with a 17-degree pitch. This marks the earliest opening of the Freeway pipe in recent years due to record snowfall and cold temperatures that have allowed for around-the-clock snowmaking.TransWorld Snowboarding releases its Top 10 List each fall, and Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Freeway SuperPipe was ranked No. 1.For skiers and riders looking to sharpen their pipe riding skills before hitting the pro pipe in Freeway, Breckenridge has also opened the beginner Eldorado Pipe.Guests who visit Freeway on Monday can have hot chocolate at 10 a.m. with SuperPipe design team, Brad Hoerter and Nick Symon.
