Breck PD cautions drivers

BRECKENRIDGE – The police department is reminding residents and visitors that school is back in session – and that means more children on bikes and in crosswalks.Motorists should always expect a child in the roadway when driving in school zones, near playgrounds or in residential neighborhoods, the police department said in a statement issued Tuesday.The speed limit in school zones is 20 mph. School zones are posted with yellow reflective signs and the reduced speed limits are in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Breckenridge officers will be strictly enforcing speed limits, the statement said.
