BRECKENRIDGE<Police caught a suspected thief sock-handed.Breckenridge police officers were dispatched to The Twisted Pine Leather and Fur, 411 South Main St,. at 4:09 a.m. Wednesday after the burglar alarm went off. When they arrived, officers found three plate glass windows broken out of the storefront and a man standing in the broken glass, leaning in the window and looking inside. Jonathan M. Ball, 28, of Warrior1s Mark, told police he was walking by and noticed the broken windows. Officers noticed, however, that both Ball1s hands were covered with socks. When asked about the socks, Ball told police his hands were cold. Officers saw he had no socks on his feet, however, and suspected Ball may have covered his hands to break the glass.Ball was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court, as well as charges of second- degree burglary, criminal mischief and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.Reid Williams can be reached at (970) 668-3998 ext. 237 or
