Breck resident Martha Chavez dies at 37

Breckenridge resident Martha Chavez died on June 12 while on vacation in Chihuahua, Mexico. She fell from a horse and suffered fatal head injuries.Chavez co-owned Jalapeños Mexican Restaurant in the River Mountain Lodge on Park Avenue in Breckenridge with her husband, Alonso Chavez.She leaves behind her husband and her sons Ivan, 14, and Daniel, 5. She is also survived by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.A memorial service will be held in her honor at 5 p.m. on Sunday at Beaver Run Resort in the third-floor conference room.- Julie Sutor
