Breck to open additional terrain

BRECKENRIDGE – The Breckenridge Ski Resort operations department is in the holiday spirit. Thanks to work by snowmaking and grooming crews, the resort has announced it will open Peak 10 terrain and the Falcon SuperChair this weekend. The new trails on Peak 10 will bring the resort’s total terrain available to 435 acres and will only be open on Saturday and Sunday. Peak 10 is scheduled to open for the season on Dec. 17.In addition to the special weekend opening of Peak 10, skiers and riders can also expect an announcement next week regarding the opening of Peak 8.Terrain available for this weekend includes Little Burn, Upper Lehman, Sizzler, Briar Rose, Country Boy, Cashier, Bonanza, Columbia, Sundown, American, Peerless, Gold King, Volunteer, Red Rover, Silverthorne, A Lift Line, Eldorado, Lower American, Crystal, Centennial, Doublejack and Cimarron. Lifts for the weekend include Beaver Run SuperChair, Quicksilver Super6, Mercury SuperChair, Camelback Platter, Camel Carpet, C-Chair and Falcon SuperChair.In addition, the resort leads the Colorado pack with the first halfpipe to open in the state at the Eldorado Terrain Park. The Cashier Rail Park and Country Boy Park are also open. – Daily News staff report
