Breckebeiner returns to Gold Run Nordic Center for ski, duathlon and triathlon races

The Breckebeiner is set to return to the Gold Run Nordic Center in Breckenridge from Saturday, Feb. 15, through Sunday, Feb. 16.

This year’s Breckebeiner will serve as USA Triathlon’s Winter National Championships for duathlon (run/ski) and triathlon (run/bike/ski) disciplines. The competition will also serve as a qualifier for the World Championships.

Participation is open to the public. Every athlete that enters receives a $25 merchandise credit in the official Breckebeiner store and a $10 meal coupon to use at the clubhouse restaurant at the Gold Run Nordic Center.

Any Summit County resident is eligible for a 30% discount, and residents can use the code “TOWNIE” at checkout.

Competition is set to kick off Saturday with the duathlon national championships and the Nordic endurance races. The Nordic endurance races will consist of 9-, 15-, 30- and 45-kilometer races. The triathlon national championships will conclude the competition on Sunday.
