Breckenridge: Antarctic explorer, historian to speak at CMC on Thursday

International speaker Dr. Richard Reaney of New Zealand will present “In the Footsteps of Shackleton,” the story of Shackleton’s amazing journey to rescue his crew from 7-8 p.m. Thursday in the Finkel Auditorium at the Breck campus. Tickets are $10 at the door; students are free.

Reaney has participated in many polar expeditions including the 100-year commemorative Antarctic Expedition to Antarctica with Sir Edmund Hilary and Sir Vivian Fuchs. He has been a guest lecturer at the N.Y. Natural History Museum and visiting scholar at Scott Polar Research Institute – Cambridge.
