Breckenridge Backstage Theatre to perform Finding Nemo, Jr., a musical based on a popular Pixar film
The performance will feature Summit County actors, including 30 local children
The Breckenridge Backstage Theatre will be performing a musical based on the beloved Pixar film “Finding Nemo,” according to a news release.
“Finding Nemo, Jr.,” will run through Feb. 8 at the Breckenridge Theater at 121 S. Ridge St. in Breckenridge. Curtains will open at 7 p.m. on Thursdays through Saturdays from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2 and Feb. 6 to Feb. 8. There will also be a performance Sunday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m., as well as an additional performance Saturday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m.
Tickets to the performances are available at BackStageTheatre.org. Tickets cost between $18 and $30. All reservations must be claimed no later than 15 minutes before a performance or they will be released.
“Finding Nemo, Jr.” is a 60-minute musical adaptation that features music by the award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, who are known for their work on the film “Frozen.” Over 30 Summit County local youths are participating in the performance.
The production is part of the local Student Theater Enrichment Program, where local children can receive instruction from industry professionals in acting, singing, dancing and other elements of theater as they prepare to present a fully produced production. There is no cost for children to participate in the program.
