Breckenridge Oktoberfest volunteers sought
September 11, 2012
High Country Conservation Center is still seeking volunteers for Breckenridge Oktoberfest Friday through Sunday. Volunteers are asked to represent HC3 at its various booths throughout the event for one two-hour shift.
Throughout the weekend, HC3 will be staffing the event with volunteers to educate residents and visitors about zero-waste goals and proper waste disposal. Approximately 30-40 volunteers are still needed for the event.
“This is going to be a really big event with lots of people and it’s a great way to educate and create awareness around good waste-disposal practices,” said Cassidy Callahan, HC3 volunteer coordinator. “We’re going to have volunteers stationed at waste bins educating people about recycling.”
For the efforts, volunteers will get two free beers and a commemorative Oktoberfest T-shirt from HC3 organizers.
Breckenridge’s 18th annual Oktoberfest includes Paulaner Bier, genuine German cuisine, collectable steins and special accommodation packages.
The town’s Oktoberfest features two dozen food vendors. With the extensive food and beverage offerings, event organizers ask that dogs be left at home, as well as any outside alcoholic beverages.
