Former Breckenridge Chief of Police Jim Baird became chief of the Thornton Police Department last month. With his departure from Breckenridge, the town has appointed another former chief — Rick Holman — as interim director of public safety.
In his new role, Holman will help recruit a new police chief, according to Breckenridge Police spokesperson Colleen Goettelman. Holman retired last year from the Breckenridge town manager’s office, where he served as assistant town manager and town manager for 12 years.
Holman has over 33 years of law enforcement experience, including his tenure as Breckenridge Police chief from 2001 to 2012, Goettelman wrote in an email.
