Breckenridge: Red, White and Blue Fire District remembering 9/11

Daily News staff report

The Red, White and Blue Fire District is marking the 11th anniversary of 9/11 with a remembrance the public is welcome to attend.

At 7:55 a.m., the fire trucks will be rolled out of the bays and parked in front. All available fire department personnel will assemble at attention in front of the flagpole and maintain silence. At 7:59, the time the World Trade Center South Tower began to collapse, an engine from the station will sound an air horn for a three-second count, and the station flag will be lowered to half-mast. The ceremonies will repeat again at 8:25 and 8:28, the time of the North Tower collapse, and the flag will remain at half-mast until sunset.
