Breckenridge Vipers secure shutout win in home opener

On Friday, Nov. 15, the Breckenridge Vipers hockey team won its first home game of the season, defeating the Park City Silver Kings, 9-0.

In the win, the Vipers recorded 49 shots on goal and scored seven goals in the first period of play. Over the subsequent two periods, the Vipers scored two additional goals while keeping the Silver Kings from finding the back of the net.

Vipers forward Riker Lynch led the team on the stat sheet, scoring two goals and contributing an assist. Forward Mitch Bailey also had two goals, while defenseman Laker Mines had two assists. JR Engelbert was credited with the shutout win as the goalie for the Vipers.



Barring a win against the Silver Kings on Saturday night, Nov. 16, the Vipers will be 4-0 on the season. The Vipers will now face the Mansfield Barracuda for a two-game series on Friday, Nov. 22, and Saturday, Nov. 23, at Stephen C. West Ice Arena in Breckenridge.
