Breckenridge’s Backstage Theatre to audition Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’

The Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge is casting ages 7 and older for its Labor Day production of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” There are roles for actors, singers, dancers and nonsingers, particularly young men ages 10 and older who can move well to play wolves and castle creatures and actors ages 40 and older to play Maurice and Monsieur D’Arque. Auditions take place March 16 and 17 by appointment only. Call (970) 453-0199 to reserve a spot. The show will premiere Labor Day weekend, with performances taking place Aug. 30 to Sept. 2 at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin in April, depending on actor availability.
