Brecks classical summer festivals join for concert

BRECKENRIDGE The Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra and the National Repertory Orchestra will present a Joint Classical Concert on Wednesday, July 23 at the Riverwalk Center, featuring BMF Orchestra maestro, Gerhardt Zimmermann and NRO maestro, Carl Topilow conducting.Topilow will conduct both orchestras in Kodlys Hary Janos Suite, during the first half of the concert and during the second half of the concert Zimmermann will also conduct both the BMF Orchestra and the NRO in their performance of Messiaens The Forgotten Offerings, and Respighis Pines of Rome.Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Riverwalk Center Box Office by calling (970) 547-3100 for $22, $27 and $32 (includes $2 box office service fee). BRECKENRIDGE Maestro Carl Topilow and the National Repertory Orchestra will present the popular Topilow Pops! concert Friday at the Riverwalk Center. The program features Overture to The Barber of Seville by Gioacchino Rossini; The Raiders March by John Williams; plus Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin with Eri Nakamura as solo pianist. Other popular works will include Serenata by Leroy Anderson; Sandpaper Ballet, The Typewriter and Buglers Holiday by Leroy Anderson; Anvil Chorus from Il Trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi; Italian Medley arranged by Ralph Herman with Carl Topilow as solo clarinetist; and Sing, Sing, Sing by Louie Prima.
