Breck’s two-hour parking expanded to summer

Jane Stebbins

BRECKENRIDGE – The Breckenridge Police Department will continue its two-hour parking enforcement throughout the year, police officials said last week.

In past years, the police department has not actively enforced the two-hour parking in spring and summer and subsequently has received many complaints from businesses and locals regarding the lack of consistent enforcement.

All-day free parking alternatives include the East Sawmill lot behind the Gold Pan, Wellington Lot at Main and Wellington streets, the Courthouse lot behind Salt Creek Restaurant, the Barney Ford Lot across from the Hearthstone Restaurant on Ridge Street, French Street lot between Lincoln and Washington avenues and the Klack Placer Lot on French Street north of Jefferson Ave. The town’s two pay lots – Tiger Dredge and F-Lot – at Village Road and South Park Avenue, will also be free all day.

There is no parking on town lots or streets from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. For additional information, contact the Breckenridge Police Department at (970) 453-2941.

Areas where the

two-hour rule will be

in place include:

n Main and Ridge streets

n The IceHouse lot behind Downstairs at Eric’s and the Horseshoe II

n The Upper Exchange lot at

Lincoln and Ridge streets

n The Tonopah lot behind La Cima.
