Brian Hegarty: Summit County rock of controversy

Is the Daily trying to ruin Summit County? That was my first thought when I saw the of the graffiti at Rainbow Lake.

Maybe you were thinking the whole county really needs this type of “improvement,” maybe we can all help make Summit look like LA or NY City. Just bring a can of spray paint with you when you hike or ski and deface everything you can.Didn’t it occur to you that others would look at this photo and think where they too could help improve the beautiful vistas in Summit by placing their “art work” for others to enjoy? Then there was the front page photo the same week of a woman cross country skiing with her dogs off leash. I find it ironic that a Summit Up column that week complained of the piles of poop on the trails, yet put that photo on their front page.Maybe it’s not her but there sure are a ton of irresponsible dog owners using the trails in Summit that just can’t seem to wrap their heads around the fact that I and others don’t want to step in their dog’s poop and that the poop pollutes the water and environment.Summit is such a great place to live with so many beautiful natural place to go, why would you want to glorify this type of negative behavior? In the future please try to set a good example and keep this kind of stuff out of your paper.
