Brian W York: Snowboarding’s real inventor?

Brian W York, Dillon

The author of this story needs to do a little more research. “Noboarding” was invented in 1965 by a guy named Sherman Poppen. Except it was called a “Snurfer.” They were marketed by the Brunswick corporation, and sold over 1 million snurfers from 1966-1976. The price ranged from $10-$30.

All of today’s boarders, (no or snow), should thank ol’ Sherman for pioneering their sport!
