Bristlecone Health Services offers free service to help prevent falls

DAILY NEWS STAFF REPORT

FRISCO – Bristlecone Health Services is now offering a free fall prevention evaluation to all community members to help keep people safer in their homes. Unintentional falls are a common occurrence among older adults, affecting approximately 30 percent of persons over the age of 65 each year. Among older adults, falls are the leading cause of injury deaths.

Community members can receive a free evaluation in their home by a Bristlecone Health Services physical therapist to assess the risk of falls and learn what to do to make their homes safer. This service is especially helpful for those facing an upcoming surgery and need to prepare for the return to their home. The evaluation will also include medical management, environmental and home modifications and suggested balance and strengthening activities.

To request an in-home fall prevention evaluation, please call (970) 668-5604.
