Brittany and Lee Gilbert say thanks for support
Hi, my name is Brittany Gilbert and I am here and able to write this today because of this community we live in and are lucky enough to call home! On Aug. 8 I was involved in and seriously hurt in a bicycle accident that could have killed me or left me paralyzed if not for an amazing emergency response system and employees. This process began with 911 operators, fast response times from Summit Ambulance Service, quick medical evaluation by St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco, Flight for Life and finally neurosurgeons at St. Anthony’s in Denver. One never knows or can truly appreciate these services until something so tragic happens, and we as a community should feel so blessed to have them.
In addition to the people above, Aug. 27 the Breckenridge Brewery was thoughtful and kind enough to hold a fundraiser for my husband Lee and I. Not only did the brewery provide tasty appetizers, but also complimentary beer! I can not thank the brewery staff enough along with GM Sara Hanley for making this possible, We are lucky to be able to call these people our close friends! In addition there are a few others that deserve some hugs and thank yous for there donations and thoughtfulness: Fatty’s Pizzeria, Motherloaded, Hearthstone Restaurant, Briar Rose, Blue Moose, Ember, Quandary Grille, Taddeo’s, Lucha, Breckenridge Distillery, Warming Hut, Dillon Dam Brewery, Olive Fusion, Big City Blues, Vintage Sweet and Chic, B Boutique, Christy Sports, Sun Logic, Stella and Dot, Hairy Situations, Windy City Pizza, Cuppa Joe, Coffee Cart, Coffee Depot, Lone Star Sports and The Lodge and Spa.
To all of these businesses, thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Every morning I wake up feeling so lucky to be able to walk let alone live in such a generous and thoughtful community we are lucky enough to call home. Also thank you to all of the people that came to be a part of that night, we could not have done it, of course without you all. It is an overwhelming experience to feel such a warm and heartfelt community support system who have sent thoughts, prayers, well wishes and continue to spread community love. I send out thanks and tons of hugs to all of you as well. Thank you.
