Brophy chosen for open seat in state Senate

DENVER – Rep. Greg Brophy, R-Wray, was chosen Sunday to move into the Senate seat Mark Hillman vacated to become acting state treasurer.The District 1 Vacancy Committee voted 25-12 for Brophy to take Hillman’s spot, Brophy said.Hillman was sworn in June 10 to fill in for State Treasurer Mike Coffman, who left to serve with the Marines in Iraq.
