Builders Association presents annual awards
The Summit County Builders Association (SCBA) at their Annual Holiday Party presented Builder and Associate of the Year Awards. For the first time, a Lifetime Achievement Award was given.The Associate of the Year was given to Murphy Funkhouser from Mountain Temp Services for her support of association events and her enthusiastic volunteering when needed. She even was the temporary help when SCBA’s executive director was absent. The Builder of the Year Award was bestowed upon Brian Wray from Mountain Log Homes. Brian is a board member and chairs the Education/Government Affairs Committee. He was responsible for an outstanding seminar to Summit County contractors last month. Brian has participated in SCBA’s Playhouse Project by building a playhouse and selling tickets and supporting the Home & Garden Show. Brian also is a member of the Summit County Board of Review.Phylecia and Brian Platte from Apex Mountain Homes were honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Phylecia also represents Century 21 Mountain Specialists. Both retired from the Board of Directors after many years of dedication and involvement with SCBA. Phylecia has been a Colorado Association of Home Builders Board of Director and active with their Government Affairs Committee. She has fought for builder’s interest in many issues on a local and state level. Phylecia and Brian have chaired the Parade of Homes Committee. Brian is a past president and also been active with local building code issues.
