Burglar tries to sexually assault woman

EAGLE – Police are looking for a man suspected of burglarizing a townhome Friday night and attempting to sexually assault a female who lived there. The attack took place around 10 p.m. Friday in the Golden Eagle Townhomes complex on Golden Eagle Drive. Eagle Police said the man crawled through a second story window and began to sexually assault a woman in an upstairs bedroom.A male relative heard a struggle and went upstairs to intervene. The attacker fought with the man, then fled. The man and the female victim were injured in the attack, but those injuries were not serious, said Eagle Police Chief Rick Sliger.”It’s very disturbing,” Sliger said. “It is to a lot of people who live here.”The victims do not know the man, according to Eagle Police.The Colorado Bureau of Investigations is assisting the Eagle Police Department with the investigation.The suspect is described as a white man between 30 and 40 years old. He was wearing a flannel shirt and jeans, police said. Anyone with information about this crime should contact the Eagle Police Department at (970) 328-6351.
