Bush is key, but not a good reason to key my car

Lisa KnobelSilverthorne

I just wanted to express my disappointment in the goodwill of my Summit County neighbors. On Jan. 26, I discovered that somebody keyed my car. It’s just a little scratch, but my car is brand new, and the reason is despicable. My car was keyed because someone did not like the Bush stickers on my car. Yes, I heartily support and believe in our president. And, I gratefully use the rights given to us all by our Constitution to express my support. Yet, that is no reason to cause senseless damage to my person and property. There is one thing I do know, when Clinton was president, we did not resort to destruction of personal property to express our displeasure. We voted. Please, I ask everyone to get behind our president, governor, lawmakers and troops to move our country forward into the 21st century. They all deserve our undivided attention to the important issues facing our country and the world. In a spirit or cooperation, compassion and understanding, together we can make a difference.
