Biz briefs: RockResorts adds resort in Dominican Republic
BROOMFIELD – RockResorts International, LLC announced today it will expand its international hotel portfolio with the addition of Balcones Del Atlntico, A RockResort, a beachfront resort in the village of Las Terrenas on the Saman Peninsula of the Dominican Republic. RockResorts, part of Vail Resorts, has been selected by Bison Group to manage resort operations, offer technical advisory services and provide marketing licensing services to assist in the sale of the residences for the property. With an anticipated grand opening this winter season, the resort will initially feature 86 units. Ideally situated along the sparkling waters of the white sand beaches, both the RockResorts Spa with four private treatment cabanas and the three-meal restaurant offering fine dining for dinner, will allow guests to enjoy some of the most breathtaking views of the region. Additionally, the resort will feature two pools with a swim-up bar, a beach bar and grill, fitness center and gourmet deli shoppe. “We are extremely excited to be adding another Caribbean property to our growing collection of luxury resorts,” said Rob Katz, CEO of Vail Resorts. “Balcones Del Atlntico exemplifies RockResorts’ commitment to offering carefully selected properties in awe-inspiring settings and iconic locations. In addition, this property honors the history of RockResorts since the brand was originally created in 1956 by Laurence Rockefeller with a strong focus on the Caribbean market.”Balcones del Atlntico, is a master-planned project that will be developed in a number of phases along the beach, and will eventually consist of approximately 350 total units, multiple restaurants and bars, two RockResorts Spas, swimming pools and hot tubs, tennis court, over water palapas and other guest amenities. Balcones Del Atlntico joins The Landings St. Lucia as well as other future warm-weather announced RockResorts including Tempo Miami, Rum Cay Resort Marina, The Bahamas and the Third Turtle Club & Spa, Turks and Caicos.
