Bizline: Hastings Mechanical fixing the ‘unfixable’
A: I perform plumbing and heating repair, service and replacement. Anything from a leaking faucet to a complete heating system replacement.
A: We have been in Summit County for over 13 years. I have worked for other companies and due to the economy and business failures, I was forced into business for myself (which many customers suggested I do for many years).
A: As I said, I have worked for over 13 years in the county providing plumbing and heating service for customers. I stay up to date with the ever- changing heating repair and replacement industry by attending classes put on by manufacturers to offer the most current innovations to save my customers money and to keep their heating equipment operating comfortably and efficiently.
A: I am the sole owner and employee. There is a very small percentage of service companies that can guarantee that the technician in your home is the sole owner. I think people like dealing directly with the owner of the company. The larger companies have so many technicians and such a high turnover rate, that chances are, the guy in your home last time may not be the technician that comes the next time. If the same person comes to your home each time, he becomes familiar with you, your home and your equipment. That gives a higher level of comfort and confidence to the homeowner. And, if a problem should arise, you don’t have to wait for a phone call from the owner (if it comes) to resolve the issue. Being the sole owner also allows me to offer more reasonable pricing than the larger companies for ht exact same work and products due to lower overhead.
A: I hope to reach all of the customers that I have worked for over the years that may have lost touch with me. I also hope to reach new customers, especially those that have had problems over the years getting their heating or plumbing systems operating properly. I have seen some pretty strange “fixes” in the years that I have been doing service work. People may have had their heating systems worked on for a long time for the same problem, never really getting their issues resolved. I actually enjoy following those guys and repairing the seemingly “unfixable.” It’s a challenge I welcome.
A: Summit County has been our home. It is a marvelous community with marvelous people. Not only the full-time locals, but the second homeowners who need to feel confident that they won’t arrive for vacation or a few weeks to enjoy our county, without finding plumbing or heating problems each time they arrive.
A: I plan on continuing to offer prompt, friendly and reliable service at a reasonable price. Reaching those goals will allow my business to grow based on referrals, which is the way my business is currently growing. A happy, satisfied customer will always tell people about you. And I certainly have a number of them now and look forward to welcoming many more.
